What does the union do?
A study time to remember
is about everything that happens between lectures and exams. We want to make every part of life during your study time a time that you can look back on with pleasure. These include things like CSN and housing issues, student discounts, associations, social activities and events. The image of the poor student living on noodles feels quite mossy, we mean that it is possible to live well even when studying.

An education to be proud of
is basically about education surveillance, student influence and quality assurance. As a student union, we have a special responsibility to be the voice of the students and to ensure that we present the students' perspectives whenever needed.
That students have the right to decide on issues related to education is regulated by law, and that right is ultimately managed by the student union.
What does this mean in practice?
In concrete terms, it works like this: The University of Gothenburg is an authority, and in it there are clear (though sometimes quite complicated) structures for who makes decisions about what. At GU there are hundreds of different boards, committees and councils that are responsible for specific issues.
In each such board, committee or council, students have the right to sit and make their voice heard. As a student union, we recruit and appoint these student representatives. They receive advice and support from us and can rely on the fact that there are well-supported opinions to lean on.
One of our most important tasks is to make sure that these students never feel that they are alone against the university, the legitimacy of the student union means that the university must listen to us and take what we say seriously. That is student influence in practice.
