Studentpolitiskt forum

Welcome to Göta studentkårs political forum!

At Göta student union, we have a great commitment to student politics,
which means that we actively work to improve your study time and life
for all students at Gothenburg University.

Student political forum

Through our student political forum, we create a platform where you can influence issues that are important to you. We address current topics such as education quality, students' rights, equality and well-being at the university.

Below you will find an overview of the projects and questions we are working on at the moment. If you feel passionate about any of these issues or if you have your own ideas and suggestions, we encourage you to get in touch with us. We also have a simple form where you can leave comments or ask questions - your voice is important and helps us pursue students' interests in the best possible way!

The forum is a fantastic opportunity for you to influence and participate in creating positive changes at your educational institution. By voicing your thoughts, you can help strengthen the student voice and make a difference for future generations of students. So don't hesitate - get involved and help shape the future!

How do we work with student politics?

To pursue student political issues, Göta student union works with focus questions. This means that Göta student union chooses a major theme to highlight during a specific period.

Within this theme, we collect our members' opinions by focusing on specific sub-areas via forms. The collected responses are compiled and integrated into our Opinion Document, which means that our students' voices become an important part of the unions' advocacy work!

The student political council

In Göta student union's student policy work, the Student Policy Council has the central role. The council is led by the Vice-Chairman and also includes other full-time and section board members. Together, the council works to investigate student political issues and update the Göta Student Union's Opinion Document based on the students' views.

The council also participates in CSN breakfasts, where they gather opinions directly from students. So feel free to stop by, say hello and take the opportunity to ask questions about things that are important to you!

Focus question autumn semester 2024

The focus question for the autumn semester 2024 is 'Students' health and well-being'. In order for students to be able to carry out their studies in a sustainable way, both the study environment and study time need to create conditions for recovery and good health. Various factors such as the housing situation, financial conditions, the university's organization and social life greatly affect students' well-being.

Exempel på hur universitetet och politiska beslut kan påverka studenternas hälsa är bland annat schemaläggning, möjligheten till sjukskrivning, hur terminerna är strukturerade samt arbetsbördan under kurser.

During the fall semester, we will investigate various aspects of this issue and the first investigation focuses on students' opportunity for recovery. Want to share your opinion? Fill in the form here!

We want to hear from you!

Here we will collect and compile the answers from the focus questions we receive, so that together we can highlight what is most important to the students right now.
