The Göta Student Union's assembly has made a decision
Under fullmäktigemöte 3 den 11 december lyftes en motion inskickad av en medlem.
Motionen handlade om ett ställningstagande gällande den hu
manitära katastrofen som
pågår i Gaza. Fullmäktige beslutade under fullmäktigemöte 3 att Göta studentkår ska ta
ställning i denna fråga och biföll följande:During the 3rd Representative Assembly meeting on December 11th, a motion submitted by a member was raised. The motion was about a position regarding the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Gaza. The Representative Assembly decided during the 3rd meeting that Göta Student Union should take a position on this issue and approved the following:
- That the Göta Student Union takes a position on the University of Gothenburg ending collaborations with Israeli institutions that support or contribute to violations of international law and human rights.
- That the Göta Student Union urges the University of Gothenburg to publicly condemn the ongoing war crimes and genocide in Palestine.
- That the Göta Student Union demands that the University of Gothenburg introduce special support measures for Palestinian researchers and students, with a focus on safety and opportunities to continue their education and research.
- That the Göta Student Union demands that the University of Gothenburg introduce support measures for all students and researchers at the university in cases where conflicts in the surrounding world negatively affect the well-being of students and researchers and their opportunities for continued education and work.
- That Göta Student Union works to ensure that students have greater influence in decisions about the university's international collaborations.
Göta Student Union therefore demands that the University of Gothenburg work on the points above and also; this is something Göta Student Union will work towards in the future.
